Titanic Boa is the largest snake ever discovered. They were between 12 and 15 meters or 39 and 49 ft in

length and weighed about 1,135 kg or 2,500 lbs with a diameter of 1 m or 40 in at the thickest part of the body.

It is believed to have lived approximately 60 to 58 million years ago, in the Paleocene epoch. It was recently

discovered in Columbia.

Gigantophis garstini - World's 2nd Largest Snake Ever

Gigantophis garstini is another prehistoric snake believed to have measured more than 10 meters (33 ft),

larger than any living species of snake. It was the largest snake before the discovery of Titanoboa. Gigantophis

lived approximately 40 million years ago in the southern Sahara where Egypt and Algeria are now situated.

The Scrub Python is the "largest snake in Australia". It is non-venomous found in Australia, Indonesia and

Papua New Guinea. The largest specimen had been measured at more than 8.5 m in length.

Indian Python is the largest species of snake found in India and has the "largest girth of all snakes". The

longest recorded specimen measured 5.85 m (19 ft 2 in), a pet, making it the "largest pet snake in the world".

Other names include Black-tailed Python, Indian Rock Python, Light Phase Asian Rock Python.

snakes.

At an average of 5.5 m or 18 ft long, the Burmese Python, is one of the 6 largest snakes in the world. It weighs

up to 71 kg or 160 lbs and continues to grow throughout life. It is native to Southeast Asia and often found near

water and sometimes semi-aquatic, but can also be found in trees.

Baby, a Burmese Python at Serpent Safari Park in Gurnee, Illinois, USA was billed as the "heaviest living snake

in captivity". In 2005, it weighed 183 kilograms (403 lb) at a length of 8.2 meters or 27 ft.

South American Bushmaster (Lachesis muta) - World's Largest Venomous Snake

Growing 3.65 m or 12 ft long and weighing 8.5 kg or 19 lbs, the South American Bushmaster is the "world's

largest overall venomous snake". It is also the largest of all pit vipers and the longest venomous snake in the

Western Hemisphere. This animal is badly affected by stress and often do not last long in captivity. This makes

it difficult to obtain "good, healthy" venom for study purposes.

With length of up to 6.7 m or 22 ft, King Cobra, is the "longest venomous snake in the world". It weighs up to

6 kg or 13 lbs with an average lifespan of 20 years. This species is widespread throughout Southeast Asia

and parts of India, but found mostly in forested areas. Its genus name, Ophiophagus, literally means "snake-

eater", and its diet primarily consists of other snakes, including sizeable pythons and even smaller members of

its own species.

Weighing over 12 kg or 26 lbs, a captive Easter Diamondback Rattlesnake, is the "heaviest venomous snake

on record". It is a found in the southeastern United States. It is also considered the "heaviest and largest of

venomous snake in the Americas" and the "world's largest rattlesnake". This species also has the reputation

of being the most dangerous venomous snake in North America.

At 3 meters long, the Ashe's Spitting Cobra or Giant Spitting Cobra of Africa is the "world's largest species of

spitting cobra" and one of the most venomous snakes known. It can be found in Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and

Somalia.

Green Anaconda (Eunectes murinus) – World's Largest Living Snake

With a maximum verified size of 9.5 m or 31.ft long and weighing 250 kg or 550 lbs, the Green Anaconda is

considered as the "world's largest squamata". The largest of all snakes is found in South America and is known

also with common names like Anaconda, Common Anaconda and Water Boa. The eyes are set high on the

head and allow the snake to see out of the water when swimming without exposing its body
